This is mostly Lady's third round ring session, except for a few pictures from her first saddling session. At the end will be a video review of what we did today, November 5th, 2012.
In the second session Lady learned to stand to be
saddled.
She also got to get the feel of the saddle at
the run.
She bucked a bit.
Today she stood at the hitching post to
be saddled.
We reviewed what she had learned before.
After she dropped her head
I called her in and we walked around
for a while.
Then she had to learn to let me walk
around her without her moving.
I tighten the cinch,
and stand in the saddle,
lean across her.
On both sides.
Give her lots of kind words.
Put the bit in for the first time.
The headstall is too large. I am going to
have to put more holes in it before
I ride her.
Back to the walking, and backing up.
